- Le Huynh Duc is the best forward Vietnamese Football has ever produced after the unification of the country. He has all the qualities required to be the best such as leadership, height, and footballing skills. Some people might argue that Nguyen Cao Cuong is better than him but since Cao Cuong had retired long before Huynh Duc began to explode in the South East Asian footballing events, therefore it is difficult to compare them. However Cao Cuong had always failed to make any impact in any FiFa regulated games whereas Huynh Duc had made great impacts in many games such as the one against China in the World Cup 2002 qualification game in which he scored a goal for Viet Nam and performed excellently. Considering that Chinese Football Team at that time was one of the big brothers in Asian Football, Duc's goal agaisnt them was considered a big achievement. Jealous of Huynh Duc's success, Cao Cuong commented that Huynh Duc was not a good footballer. When asked why he said that, he said that Huynh Duc did not have leadership skills and he was not an important player of the team. However all of coaches who had been with the Vietnamese national team, said that Huynh Duc's leadership is not questionable. They even went as far as saying that Huynh Duc was the best striker they had ever coached. Tavares, a former coach of Vietnamese National Football Team, said at the press conference after he signed the contract with the team, that he would build the team around Duc because Duc had all the qualities that a footballer needed.
