Le Gone du Chaâba (The Kid of the Chaaba) is a novel by Azouz Begag about a young Algerian boy of the same name growing up in a shantytown outside of Sarcelles, called Chaâba. It was filmed in 1998 by Christophe Ruggia, and received a César nomination for Best Debut.
