Le Boulevard
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Le Boulevard is a shopping centre established in 1953 in the Island of Montreal at the corner of Jean-Talon East and Pie IX.
Le Boulevard is built in the shape of a L and is composed of 70 stores. The Bay and Metro each border a side of the mall, with Canadian Tire being in the middle. Geographically, Le Boulevard is situated partly in the Saint-Michel neighborhood and partly in the former city of Saint-Leonard. Canadian Tire and Metro are in Saint-Leonard, while The Bay is in Saint-Michel. The mall has often used "Montreal" on its addresses even though the administrative office is on the Saint-Leonard side. The mall is just a block away from the Rosemont neighborhood.
Le Boulevard Shopping Centre is managed by Crofton Moore of Montreal. The mall has recently undergone extensive renovations. New tenants in the revitalized centre include Urban Planet, Dollarama, La Senza, Tim Hortons, Jean Coutu, Luneterie New Look and others. Long-time tenants of the mall include Reitmans and the Royal Bank.
In November 2007, the owners of the mall purchased the land under the centre, that for over 50 years was subject to a long term land lease. The next phase of revitalization of the mall will begin in mid-2008 when a food court will be added as will several additional retailers.
