León Zuckert

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

León Zuckert (1904-1992) was a Canadian composer, conductor, arranger, and radio pioneer.

A native of Russia, Zuckert studied the violin under Boris Brodsky at the Imperial Music Society School in Poltava. He played with symphony orchestras in Canada, the United States, and Argentina, and toured with numerous stage companies and dance bands. He was also one of the pioneers of the CBC (then known as the CRC, or Canadian Radio Commission); for them, he conducted many programs with his orchestra, arranging much of the music himself.
