Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, LCpl, I'm Kafziel. I noticed you were new, or at least that nobody has officially welcomed you yet, so let me be the first to say hello, give you some tips, and share a few useful links.

Here are some links you might find helpful:

I know they're a little boring (okay... a lot boring) but they may come in handy someday.

I give every newcomer two tips for adding content: cite references whenever possible, and try to set aside any personal points of view. Aside from that, just be patient and receptive, ask questions whenever you need to, and have a good time.

Now that you have your own user name, you can sign your discussions on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). This will automatically stamp your user name, the time, and the date. That will help other users reply to your posts. You may also want to fill out your user page to tell others a bit about yourself.

I hope this information is useful to you, and I'm looking forward to seeing your contributions. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me for help. Good luck, and happy editing! Kafziel 14:35, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Fifth Column

Hello LCpl,

I couldn't help but notice you decided to move Fifth Column to Fifth Column (Band), which has left this article, which previously had more than 50 links, without any. I realize you wished to distinguish between the military manouver and the band, however there already was a distinction: Fifth column, regarding the military manouver, did not have the 'c' in column capitalized. Also, you've made this change without any discussion with other editors. Perhaps you would like to change things back the way they were previously, which would be helpful, or, if not, at least then you might go to all the pages that linked to the Fifth Column page (the band) and make sure they all link to the appropriate page. Thanks!

My Mistake, I apologize for the inconvenience. LCpl 02:22, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello again, LCpl,

No problem, apology accepted. If you coould now just undo your redirects, so that "Fifth Column" (upper case 'C')leads to the band, and "Fifth column" (lower case 'c') leads to the military manouver, then that would be great. Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ARVN 18th.JPG}

Thank you for uploading Image:ARVN 18th.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
