[edit] Userboxes
Hi again! I notice you've discovered the userboxes. :) You might be interested in reading Wikipedia:Userboxes to see how you can tidy them up so they don't consume your userpage, and so that other people can actually digest them in a useful way. If you look around at other userpages, you might get ideas for good ways to organize your own page. Let me know if I can help at all. Cheers! Cantara 06:07, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Prodego talk 03:45, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Cantara 05:45, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, not a problem. You're new, etc. etc., and the pages that describe these things can be kind of hard to find. A good rule of thumb with templates (which refers to basically anything you see in a box on an article) is to read them carefully, especially the pages they link to if you're confused about what they mean, and discuss anything you want to do about them on the article's talk page. And, for the record, when you're leaving someone a note, or making a comment on a talk page, it's a good idea to sign your name with four tildes (~~~~), which automatically inserts your name and a time/date stamp (you can see this at work on this page). Three tildes will leave just your name. This makes it really easy to know who left what comment, and to reply to them. If you ever have a question, feel free to leave me a note and I'll get back to you as quickly as I can. Cheers! Cantara 06:21, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

I saw your comment on the lefthanded page, and here is the comment I left there:
Lbr123, I am a fellow lefty and the UBX you can add to your page is: {{User left-handed}}. This will also add you to a category which displays other Lefty users; just another neat Wikipedia trick. Good luck on your future edits. --Jared [T]/[+] 20:18, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Digi_Comp_II.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Digi Comp II.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

Thanks for uploading Image:DigicompII.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Fall Out Boy and Franz Ferdinand
Hi! I'm not sure if you got my reply or not, so I thought I'd paste it on your page. I've obviously just realized that I can use the 'history' button...
Great! You can join the "I Hate Fall Out Boy" club that my sister jokes about starting. I also hate them with passion. As for my favorite Franz song...That's tricky. My latest favorite is "Fabulously Lazy", but I also love "Jacqueline", and "The Fallen", and "Evil and a Heathen", and "The Dark of the Matinée", and and...I could go on. I wish they had won Best Alternative Album at the Grammys! I'm also a White Stripes fan, but I really like You Could Have It So Much Better more than Get Behind Me Satan.
Don't forget to sign your posts with the four tildes!

[edit] Your VandalProof Application
Dear Lbr123,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires it's users to have made 250 edits to articles, which you have not. Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen Stollery 07:05, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. You can see your edit count here. Bear in mind, our minimum is 250 mainspace edits (you currently have just under 150) Thanks again - Glen Stollery 07:24, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because your name is listed as a participant in WikiProject Musicals (previously WikiProject Broadway) or I feel you may be interested in the project. It seems that the project has laid dormant for quite awhile, but I would like to work toward getting it up and operative. I have a few ideas that I've outlined on the talk page, and would love your input. Working together, I think we can signifigantly improve the quality of the articles relating to musicals on Wikipedia. — MusicMaker 06:04, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding the SpongeBob WikiProject
Attention, member of Wikiproject SpongeBob SquarePants. This project is up for deletion at this page. ForestH2 has become a sockpuppeter and is being blocked from Wikipedia. So, he will most likely not return. (along with his sockpuppets.) The board of the project has been very controversal. I am removing the board (as it is contoversal and wont really matter) as a result. This project can improve if it can undergo clean-up (which i am in the process of) But, most of all, it needs to be kept. So, I hope you can support this project from its time of inactivity and save it from deletion, then we can continue to improve SpongeBob SquarePants articles. I would hope that you would support with me, but please voice your opinion by clicking here: Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Wikiproject SpongeBob SquarePants. Thank-you. -AMK152 17:02, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the .
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
[edit] Decision Making
The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

[edit] WikiProject Rock music invitation
Hello WikiProject Alternative music member.
WikiProject Alternative music, in my eyes, has proved to be successful "improving the encyclopaedic coverage of articles relating to alternative rock", and improving their quality as well. One specific example I have witnessed is The Smashing Pumpkins article. The page has gone from a mediocre work, to GA status, to FA nomination. Only appropriate, as the Pumpkins are undeniably one of the most influential alternative rock bands on the 1990's and beyond.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently ressurected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and not only be a member of alternative Wikipedians, but the rockin' ones as well.
Rock on.

[edit] Notability of Jason Heyward
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jason Heyward, by Ekillian, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jason Heyward seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jason Heyward, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Jason Heyward itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 06:18, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Jason Heyward
I've nominated Jason Heyward, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Jason Heyward satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jason Heyward (2nd nomination) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Jason Heyward during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Artarfons.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Artarfons.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:09, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:BillJefferysPortrait.JPEG
Thanks for uploading Image:BillJefferysPortrait.JPEG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 07:17, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:JesseSpencer.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:JesseSpencer.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mpaulfriedberg.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Mpaulfriedberg.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:35, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AtlantaDream.png
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:AtlantaDream.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Mo collins.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Mo collins.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 19:01, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
