Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes

The Lazaro Barrera Memorial Stakes is a race for Thoroughbred horses run each year at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood, California. The race is open to three-year-old horses willing to race seven furlongs on the dirt and offers a purse of $150,000.

It is named in memory of Hall of Fame trainer Lazaro "Laz" Barrera. Among many good horses, Laz trained Affirmed. He died in 1991.
