Lazarev Mountains

Lazarev Mountains (Operation Highjump (1946-47), the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1957-58) and ANARE (Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions) (1959). Named by the Soviet expedition after Lieutenant M.P. Lazarev, commander of the sloop Mirnyy of the Bellingshausen expedition (1819-21).
