Talk:Layback spin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This variation is often used by skaters whose normal layback leg position is somewhat weak, such as 9-time U.S. Champion Michelle Kwan.

Wouldn't this be a NPOV violation? Lmblackjack21 22:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Can IP user (69.167.9.191) please make your edit clearer? Roller skate or ice skate? In figure skate, arm (leg...) position makes great artistic presentation at ANY elements. AIEA 18:40, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Men and layback spins

Contrary to a previous version of this article, it isn't a "recent" thing for men to do layback spins. Toller Cranston was doing them as far back as the early 1970's, and perhaps there were other guys from before then that haven't made it into my video collection yet! Other guys who were well-known for doing a layback as a regular part of their spin repertoire in the 1980s and 1990s were Viktor Petrenko, Viacheslav Zagorodniuk, and Rudy Galindo. That's just off the top of my head, too. Dr.frog 14:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
