"Lay Down Your Arms" is a pop rock song written by Charlotte Caffey, Ralph Schuckett and Ellen Shipley, produced by Shipley for The Graces first album Perfect View (1989). Caffey was the lead vocalist on the song, and it was released as the band's debut single. It charted disappointingly at #56 in the Billboard charts[1].
The song was later covered by American singer Belinda Carlisle as the second song released from her fifth studio album Real (1993). Carlisle's version was produced by Ralph Schuckett and was the more successful version charting at number twenty-seven on the UK Singles Chart. The CD single included three additional track, "Tell Me", "Wrap My Arms" and "Here Comes My Baby, the last two were eight track demos.
