Bound for Glory 2006 was the second annual Bound for Glory professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). It took place on October 22, 2006 from the Compuware Sports Arena in the charter township of Plymouth, Michigan and was the first monthly TNA pay-per-view event held in a location other than Nashville, Tennessee, or Orlando, Florida. Tickets went on sale August 5, 2006.
The main event was a Title vs. Career match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship between Jeff Jarrett and Sting, which Sting won after forcing Jarrett to submit with the Scorpion Death Lock. The main matches on the undercard were A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels versus The Latin American Exchange (Homicide and Hernandez) in a Six Sides of Steel match for the NWA World Tag Team Championship, Senshi versus Chris Sabin for the TNA X Division Championship, and Christian Cage versus Rhino in an 8 Mile Street Fight.

[edit] Background
The main feud heading into Bound for Glory was between Jeff Jarrett and Sting, with the two feuding over the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. The feud first started in January at Final Resolution, when Sting and Christian Cage defeated Jarrett and Monty Brown. Three months later at Lockdown, Sting Warriors (Sting, A.J. Styles, Ron Killings and Rhino) defeated Jarrett's Army (Jeff Jarrett, Scott Steiner, Chris Harris and James Storm) in a Lethal Lockdown match. At Slammiversary two months afterward, Jarrett won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating then-champion Christian Cage, Abyss, Ron Killings, and Sting in a King of the Mountain match. Jarrett defeated Sting to retain the championship two months later at Hard Justice.
The other main match on the card was for the TNA X Division Championship between Senshi and Chris Sabin. At the previous pay-per-view event, No Surrender, Senshi defeated Chris Sabin to retain the TNA X Division Championship.
