A tag has been placed on Navdeep Singh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

[edit] Why the article does not seem notable

As per Wikipedia Notability Looking at only two categories for Navdeep-1. His awards and 2. His book these are the categories that could apply to his notability:-

. In general:

  • A credible independent biography.
  • The person has received significant recognized awards or honors.
  • Wide name recognition The person made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in their specific field.
  • Multiple features in credible news media.
  • Commercial endorsements of notable product

Creative professionals: scientists, academics, economists, professors, authors, editors, journalists, filmmakers, photographers, artists, architects, engineers, and other creative professionals.

  • The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by their peers or successors.
  • The person is known for originating a significant new concept, theory or technique.
  • The person has created a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work, which has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews.
  • The person's work either (a) has been displayed in a significant exhibition or as a monument (b) has won significant critical attention, or (c) is represented within the permanent collection of a significant gallery or museum of more than local significance.

So apart from claims under *The person has received significant recognized awards or honors. and possibly *Multiple features in credible news media. the other categories are not applicable. In these categories that are applicable where my doubts are :- It is not a "significant recognized award" and there are no "features" in the news media, there are small excerpts of press releases related to the awards won. But there are also press releases of the local nukkad Lions Club awards won, so since the press releases are also centered around the award- the notability of the award itself is what should decide the article's notability. So for instance the notability of the "Chief of Army Staff's commendation/ President of India's commendation, the AVSM, the VSM, the Sena Medal as well as Shaurya Chakra, and the VC, MVC the PVC is not in doubt, the notability of the Army Commanders commendation is,do you have any links or information that can show that this is a notable or a significant award ? Number of awardees ( across the country) each year for instance ? Haphar 09:23, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
