Template talk:Law enforcement agencies of the United Kingdom

[edit] English bias?

Not sure if any of the originators of this template are still around. Jurisdicition of the Health and Safety Executive is only England and Wales and Scotland. Responsibility in Northern Ireland is with the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland. This should be made clear but are there similar issues with the other agencies? Would this need a change to a more complicated template? Cutler (talk) 10:40, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Template:UK Police and Template:UK Police1 should change to Law enforcement, and we'll merge this one into them. There's stuff like the Prison Service missing as well. ninety:one 12:21, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I came up with this, I don't think it's too good:

how about this instead, also added some otherwise waylaid national police units:

[edit] Police

I'm not keen on the template in its current form - we can't call it "Law Enforcement Agencies" and leave out the police! In any case, at present (as of the current time and date) the version in use shows the NI police, but ignores police in England, Wales, and Scotland. The current useage in relation to UK articles is for LEA to mean non-police. With regards to PSNI: User_talk:MickMacNee#Template:Law_enforcement_agencies_of_the_United_Kingdom, I don't think it should be there. I think Template:UK Police would be confusing and crowded if we added the LEAs from this template to it.
