  • Write sections for each of the 4 colleges
  • Write History section.
  • Revise History section. (grammar, new president, past sports accolades)
  • Get current photos of the Buell, Science, Engineering, Architecture, Student Services, and UTLC buildings. These *photos should be taken once the quadrangle reconstuction is complete.
  • Get current photos of the two residence halls, the quadrangle (Taubman Ellipse/Quadrangle/Courtyard), and the Ridler Field House.
  • Get statisical information for the Infobox
  • Make the search phrase "LTU" associated with this listing.
  • Add listing of all the deans of the colleges.
  • Update main article to include information of all of the new student driven, campus improvement initiatives. Ex. Spirit Rock, Volleyball Court.


A few things still need to be added / changed. Chambers is no longer president, and I guess his fluff title of 'chancellor' should be mentioned as well. The old Executive Vice President Lewis Walker is the President, for a while they were calling him Interim President, but I don't know if they still consider him interim (I think they had to wait for the search committee to find him). The ellipse is done (Coaster you sound like a student so you probably already know that). The history section has several sentences that, if they aren't run-ons, are darn near close. I know the guys that got the rock brought in and the volleyball court built, I could get them to throw some pictures up for GNU. Another neat section would be sports, somewhere to mention our past basketball domination. I don't have time today but I'll come back and work on some of these things eventually. Also - LTU is already mentioned on the 'LTU' disambiguation page, so that can be crossed off (and I'll do that now.)Seadragon 22:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Hehe, history section was taken from online LTU resource; as usual, the Administration doesn't follow the University's own guidelines on writing. Anyone see any value of adding older pictures? I have added a photo of the Taubman Center that I took in late November 2006. I have more current photos of the campus that I have not uploaded yet, but will upload when I get a chance. I think that older photos of the Southfield campus, as well as the original Highland Park campus if possible, would be a good addition to History section.

I think the article should have the following sections: History, a section with four subsections on each of the colleges, a section about the buildings, a section on Athletics, and a section about notable alumni, faculty, and staff. The section on the buildings would be split up into three subsections. The first subsection would contain information about the academic buildings. The second section would contain information about the residence halls, and the third section would be other buildings (Taubman Center, Ridler Fieldhouse).--Coaster1983 05:29, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I've removed this ENTIRE section as it contains large amounts of text lifted from http://www.ltu.edu/news/history.asp. I'm unable to tell exactly which text is copied and which is not so the entire section has been removed as a precaution.

We cannot have copyrighted material on wikipedia - that is illegal. For guidance see WP:COPYRIGHT. Either get permission to use the text or rewrite all sections in new prose. exolon 18:32, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Seeing as the entire history page on ltu.edu is publicly available and doesn't appear to be copyrighted, how is this infringement??!
    • Try looking at the bottom of all the pages on the site. You've got &copy2007 or ©2007 there. Available to the public does not equal public domain. exolon 01:45, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
