Lawrence Fordyce is a well know music producer. He even is cited on a wikipedia page for Jenifer Lopez as a producer on her album which I have clearly cited. He is also cited on New York celeb and socialite Ivan Wilzigs page. I am simply trying to link these pages together. this is a first copy that will be edited further Also i disagree with the claim that there are no sources to back this article up. Please just check out his discography. which i would also like to point out IS CITED!!!!!

You added the link to the J-Lo page, which adds to its dubiosness. --brewcrewer (yada, yada) 05:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Let me get this straight. He has a production credit on a J Lo album which can be supported through numerious sources. He also is listed as a producer on This Is Me... by American singer Jennifer Lopez in a wikipedia article which i have cited.. If he is already on a wikipedia page I have every right to point this out. He already was ciated on j los page I simply highlighted his name so it could link back to his page. That dubiousness quote is uncalled for and is slanderous. Unless you are a music expert you probably have no idea or right to judge OTHER ARTISTS unless you know how to properly check discographys and credits from record companies. If you dont know how to do this you have no right to rush to judgement. Also that link was being used as a ciatation to show others where to find that information out. you should check out this offical record website http://www.legacyrecordings.com/Jennifer-Lopez/This-Is-MeThen.aspx which once again states and lists Lawrence Fordyce as a producer and as a remixer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidsonfan (talkcontribs) 05:50, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

What would be great is for someone to provide a third-party source which demonstrates this artist's notability. An album review in a reputable music magazine would be ideal. Something of that caliber. Referencing Wikipedia doesn't count. And I don't think that merely being one of many producers on a J'Lo album necessarily demonstrates notability per WP:N. -- Levine2112 discuss 15:53, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

here is the site for his offical discography. This is legit. Put in any artist or producer and it shows you what they have written produced or sung in. I am working on finding the links to magazine articles on him. He had one in Billboard and a couple of others. What do I do if there is no online link to this. Like if its in a music magazine I just list the date title and issue number? any way here is the link http://www.discogs.com/artist/Ford —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidsonfan (talkcontribs) 18:11, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes, if there is no online links, just reference the magazine in print. Please see WP:CITE to help you with formatting. We really need to establish notability per WP:N by introducing some relevant and notable third-party sources. If the artist was listed in Billboard, it shouldn't be hard to get that info online. In the meantime, leave up the notability banner on the top of the article. Worst comes to worst, we will run it through an WP:AfD and see if the community thinks the subject is notable enough.
On a side note, please be sure to sign each of your talk messages here with four tildes (~~~~). Wikipedia will automatically replace that with you proper signature. Thanks. -- Levine2112 discuss 18:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

i am working on posting the sources. found a lot of billboard online ones for songs but it is taking a while please be pacient (~~~~). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidsonfan (talkcontribs)

Fine, but don't remove the AfD template or other tags. Simply follow the hangon instructions enumerated in the template. When you sign with the four tildes, all you need are the tildes, not the nowiki tags and not the (parentheses). -- Levine2112 discuss 01:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

just wondering about the ciations. I already have 20. It seems like I am already going overboard to show sources, since some artist pages dont Also how is billboard not considered a good third party source? Also he is ciated on several arsits pages and singles pages for his production work. Am I not allowed to cite another wikipedia article that mentions him and has been cleared as noteworthy.Davidsonfan (talk) 04:28, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability for the kind of sources you need to find. You can't use Wikipedia itself as a source. As far as Discogs is concerned, its information is user-generated, making it an unreliable source.--BelovedFreak 10:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

Please tell me billboard is seen as a reliable source. Davidsonfan (talk) 07:50, 31 May 2008 (UTC)
