[edit] Current History
Is there anything about what he's done in the last twenty years? evrik 16:23, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] issues
As far as I can tell, City Lights did not publish the early works of Jack Kerouac. This needs to be qualified. However, they did publish Gregory Corso. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.180.214.252 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Birthdate
The 1920 census lists him as 1 10/12 years old in January, 1920 suggesting he was born March, 1918 instead of 1919. It could be a mistake but it would have been clear to the parents and the census taker that this was wrong.
[edit] Sephardic?
Is there any evidence for this whatsoever anywhere, besides in articles based on this Wikipedia article? Is there some reason why dozens of celebrities are being donated partial Jewish heritage all across Wikipedia-land?
- You should probably can the attack-style comments. There's no problem with requesting a citation for something, but there's never a need to take that kind of tone. Yes, there is a source. See [1]. His maternal grandfather was Sephardic, his grandmother was French. And his father was Italian. Now cited in the article. Cheers, Mad Jack 00:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the polite advice and the updated citation. You'd think a guy who has an entire savannah and park named after him in Africa would rate a bigger article. ;-)
- Hm, you know, I found this Guardian interview, and it seems to say his mother was all Jewish... [2] I'll correct in the article Mad Jack 09:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Discography addition
I added the Discography section based on an album I found listed on eBay. The album wasn't listed in the article, and obviously should be, and I included a link elsewhere to the eBay listing, but I will include the link here as well... http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-BEAT-POETRY-LP-LAWRENCE-FERLINGHETTI-TYRANNUS-NIX_W0QQitemZ130038338809QQihZ003QQcategoryZ306QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ...I asked the owner of the album if they would give permission for the usage of the photo in the wiki article, but that may not be sufficient, as the record company may need to give permission as well. Of course, if the record company is defunct, perhaps the cover photo qualifies as public domain. It is a striking cover, imo, so perhaps someone else with a little more emotional investment in the article may want to find out if it can be used. dpb (10/30/06)
Addendum (11/03/06): I have found another Ferlinghetti recording listed on eBay, and I have including that material here as well. This item include material from Kenneth Rexroth as well. The link is... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150004264234&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX&refitem=130038338809&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&refwidgettype=osi_widget ...though I don't know how long the pictures will remain available there. I am making a personal copy of the item so that it will be available should the link go dead. dpb Mindfruit 09:49, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Seventh Attack
Referring to the World War II category/ division in the article - I changed "7th Japanese attack" to "December 7, 1942 Japenese attack". Without the change it looks like the paragraph is saying this was the 7th attack on Pearl Harbor. 134.241.194.66 (talk) 19:41, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
