Lawrence Kaptein

Lawrence Kaptein is the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he conducts the University Choir. He received degrees from Willamette University, Portland State University, and earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in choral music and conducting from the University of Southern California. He was Director of Choirs at Glendale College, California and the Conductor and Music Director of the Burbank Civic Chorale. His University of Colorado choirs have performed at American Choral Directors Association national conventions in 1991 and 1997, the southwest regional convention in 1994, the 1992 Tolosa (Spain) International Choral Competition, and have performed in England, Scotland, Holland, Venice (at St. Mark's), and Rome (at St. Peter's). He has conducted All-State Choirs throughout the United States and gives lectures on conducting around the world.
