Lawrence G. Abele (born 1947) is an American academic in the Department of Biological Science and is the current Provost at Florida State University. He is a Distinguished University Professor at FSU, and he was appointed to the Provost position in 1994.
Abele started his career at FSU in the Department of Biological Sciences in 1973. He continued on at FSU, serving as associate professor, professor, associate chairman for graduate studies, chairperson, dean and now provost.
