Lawrence Dutton (b. 9 May 1954) is an American violist, and is currently a member of the Emerson String Quartet. He earned a Bachelor and Master's degree from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with Lillian Fuchs.
He is currently on the faculty of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and at the Manhattan School of Music. Lawrence was born in New York City, New York, and now resides in Bronxville, New York with his wife, violinist Elizabeth Dutton. Together they have three sons Luke, Jesse, Sam and their dog Ajax.
