[edit] Location

The station is located between Railway Avenue and Maher Road, with access available from both via a footbridge at the Werribee end of the station. Shops are located near the station.

The station consists of two platforms, in an island format. The island platform contains a large brick building with an enclosed waiting room and a ticket office inside. A large Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins.

At the Melbourne end of the station the tracks diverge, with suburban trains usually taking the single track route via Altona, while Geelong and Warrnambool line trains take the double track route via Galvin and Paisley. A rail siding is also located adjacent to the station.

The Western standard gauge line is to the west of the station, and is used by interstate freight trains, and The Overland passenger service from Melbourne to Adelaide.
