LaVan Davis is an American actor, known for his work with Tyler Perry. He has appeared on many of Perry's movies, plays, and his hit sitcom. He has appeared in the plays Why Did I Get Married? as Poppy and Madea Goes to Jail as Leo and he has also appeared in the movies Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns as the bus driver and Daddy's Little Girls as Lester (the nightclub singer). Davis currently stars on the hit sitcom Tyler Perry's House of Payne, on which he plays the cranky Curtis Payne. Before Davis began working with Tyler Perry, he was featured on other projects including the film Mindbenders as Leroy, Everbody Hates Chris as Preacher (one episode), and Puff, Puff, Pass as Otis. Davis will also be in the upcoming 2009 film, Madea Goes to Jail playing Leo, (the same character he played in the play). Cassi Davis will also be reprising her role as Ella.

LaVan Davis and Cassi Davis are not married in real life; they are only married on the show Tyler Perry's House of Payne, but they are best friends in real life. They have also appeared on a lot of projects together. Tyler Perry claims that they work very well together.
