Errm, thanks

. . . for the reminder. I'll take care of it. I only created the dab a couple hours ago or so, then got bogged down with work . . . don't worry, we'll get there eventually ;) · j e r s y k o talk · 21:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, most of those were improperly linked even before the dab. Working on it now :) · j e r s y k o talk · 21:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Please just do not change Kragujevac article in the next 20-30 minutes until I finnish my work there and then change what you want, ok? PANONIAN (talk) 17:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I finished with Kragujevac - you can change it now. :) PANONIAN (talk) 17:35, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

KosMetfan

Thanks for warning him again. I think he's going to get himself banned -not just blocked- very soon unless he starts behaving. --Asteriontalk 00:50, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I originally tried to gauge how serious he was in editing here but to me based on his (lack of) response and his contribs it's most likely a single purpose account used strictly for just for trolling/vandalism, and he has absolutely no desire to become a serious editor. The sooner he's gone the better for everyone, glad to see you're on top of the situation :) // Laughing Man 01:00, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

Entity flag

Yes, the link you found is the same article, except in English. If you read the last paragraph, there you will fin the information. (The very last one). Anyways, the decision was passed on January 27, 2007. However, media coverage came later... Thanks, Vseferović 01:14, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Of course I already found it in the press release, I sent you the link! ;) In any case, please let me know if you come across news articles as I would like to read about what the interpretations for what this actually means, as I am surprised there is still no mention in Western media yet (at least based on research I have been doing). Thanks for the reply. // Laughing Man 03:33, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Question

Hello, since you were so helpful earlier, and I have no idea who to ask, I thought I'd turn to you. My question is: what are those numbers in parentheses in red and green on the "my watchlist" page? And why are some of them bold? What do the plus/minus symbols mean? Thanks for your time :) Stop The Lies 08:01, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Stop_The_Lies

incorrect revert

Kseferovic,

Regarding your revert in Flag of Republika Srpska, please double check what you are re-adding. The press release does not state anything about "nationalistic symbols" or "6 months starting from Jan 27", please point out where you getting this, as your are pointing to the last paragraph from the press release in your edit summary of the revert and I do not see it. For your convenience, I've posted the last paragraph below. Also in the future where possible, please use the official English version when citing this source (as it is available directly from the constitutional court) so other English speakers can verify this as well -- this is the en wiki after all ;). Thank you.

Finally, the Constitutional Court adopted decision establishing that the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and National Assembly of Republika Srpska failed to enforce the First Partial Decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, no. U 4/04 of 31 March 2006 establishing Articles 1 and 2 of the Law the Law on Coat of Arms and the Flag of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina nos. 21/96 and 26/96) and Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitutional Law on Flag, Coat of Arms and Anthem of the Republika Srpska (Official Gazette of Republika Srpska no. 19/92) as unconstitutional. Considering that that established inconformity was not corrected within a time limit of six months from the date of publishing this decision in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Constitutional Court established Articles 1 and 2 of the Law the Law on Coat of Arms and the Flag of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Articles 2 and 3 of the Constitutional Law on Flag, Coat of Arms and Anthem of the Republika Srpska shall cease to be in force as of the date this Ruling is published in Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Final text of the decision shall be verified at one of the following sessions of the Constitutional Court.

// Laughing Man 18:16, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh if that was your revert then I have misunderstood you. The previous decision dating back to March of 2006, stated 6 months. All that was stated in this one was that they are unconstitutional. I am saying that it does not matter if a new flag is designed in two days or 2 months, it is still unconstitutional and illegal. Therefore, we cannot use the current flag, etc. Thanks, Vseferović 18:33, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
What are you talking about? You are the the one who reverted my changes stating something incorrect, and still have not explained your edits above, or corrected your apparent mistake. Carpet Football

I wasnt aware of this deletion. As the creator of the page I would like to be advised of such thing. The term is used to describe south american style of football, tipically Brazil and Argentina, which, I dont know if you have ever seen a football match is very different of the european . You can find the term in english newspapers ! Jor70 22:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Please review the AfD discussion. Besides the standard AfD template that was placed on the page, it was also listed on WikiProject Football - Nominations for deletion. At this point I suggest first posting on WikiProject Football's talk page if wish to discuss it further with other members of the project, or if you feel very strongly that this was deleted in error, you can post on Wikipedia:Deletion review. Regards. // Laughing Man 23:17, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
but do you recognize that there is another style of football played by the south american teams ? Jor70 23:24, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, of course I recognize that there are many different tactics and styles of play that are used around the world. The article was not deleted because editors did not recognize that, it was deleted mainly per the content guideline described in WP:NEO. // Laughing Man 00:57, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Fair use images on user pages

I left out a bracket. However, proper following of fair use rationale is more important than userboxes of a user with 257 userspace edits and less than 20 edits outside of that. I'm sure you mean well. --ElaragirlTalk|Count 01:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, in that case, I'm sure he really cares alot about his user page and doesnt want it broken! ;) Thanks for fixing. // Laughing Man 01:40, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

re: Nemanja Vidić

Fair enough - I thought the multiple ELs were redundant. Though if it's used in the article, shouldn't it be sourced inline where the information is cited? I notice there are lots of [citation needed] tags within the article, so you could kill two birds with one stone. Ytny (talk) 18:52, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

I would have done it myself if I weren't planning to log off in a few minutes or if I actually knew more about Viddic. I definitely understand the reasoning for keeping the link in the EL list. Ytny (talk) 19:01, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ana Ivanovic.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ana Ivanovic.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 16:41, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Speedy delete please -- we have replaced it with a free image from the commons in her article. Thanks. :) // Laughing Man 17:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Yugo Films

Hello, me again :) But this time, I'm not a helpless wiki user (yay). If you're interested, you can help out with the List of Yugoslavian films article. It's definitely not a list of all our movies (because imdb has that) but a list of the more notable ones, the favourites, the acclaimed and award-winning ones etc. Also trying to leave out nationalistic propaganda movies (unless it's Yugo nationalism - like The Battle of Neretva, cuz that still unites us in a way heh). Anyway, if you can't think of any notable movies to add, you can create articles for the movies on there that have none yet, or the many actors that are article-less, or simply improve on what's there already. If you've got time, of course. :) Thx a lot! Maîtresse 01:27, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up. I don't think I can contribute much in terms of new content since I do not know much of the subject and have just recently starting watching the films recently myself, and becoming more and more interested, so this list will actually help me :) But time permitting, I can help with any "housekeeping", style, and simple updates if necessary though. Perhaps we should look at other similar lists, and consult with editors participating in WikiProject Films as it does seem be fairly active to get some more input if you think it makes sense this point.
By the way, you have come a long way from when you started, and learn very quickly, I'm impressed! Keep up the great work! :) // Laughing Man 19:03, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

Straw poll on Srebrenica massacre

As a result of persistent edit warring on Srebrenica massacre, I have proposed that a straw poll be taken regarding one of the issues involved—namely, how to title the section currently named "Alternative views". This will help us to determine whether there is a consensus on what to title this section, or at least a consensus on what not to call it. The straw poll can be found at Talk:Srebrenica_massacre#Straw poll on "Alternative views" section. I have posted this announcement to each of the 19 users who have made multiple edits to Srebrenica massacre this year. —Psychonaut 13:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Question #4857692847958...9

With regard to my user page... on my screen it shows up just as I want it to... where my 2x4 userboxes are nicely put to the left, leaving room for my remaining vertical row of 5 userboxes and my pictures to fit side by side. However, on other screens, my 2x4 of userboxes is too far to the right, leaving no room for my 5 userboxes and pushing them down, thereby screwing up my pretty userpage :( lol. Sooo I guess my Q is, is MY screen the odd one out? (It's pretty big, I have no idea what size or resolution but it's big...) Or should I spend less time worrying about my userpage and get a life... Basically, how do I fix this hehe? (Ps: Thanks so much for taking the time out of useful contribution to deal with my endless queries) :)Maîtresse 01:49, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Note:

You said: "Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption".

And you please note that a "sorry" message necessarily involves discontinuation of "attack". An that a bombing of a country could be in no way a "personal attack". And that if it were, all voters of governments who in fact HAVE bombed Serbia should be blocked, not me. --Damifb 06:47, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Your comment is without a doubt a very offensive personal attack. I'm glad you came to your senses and removed it yourself (although it disturbs me further that you clarified here what you meant by "your country" and try justify this nonsense). // Laughing Man 22:10, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi again. I know the following is not a valid explanation, but I really did not think that something that sounded obviously ridiculous, and therefore like a joke, in Argentina, can be a painfull memory in Serbia. By "your country" I meant any place, but then I checked out and saw with dismay that the fellow was a Serbian. Template:2006-07 Football Leagues

Hi I've started a discussion regarding this template you contributed to here.[1] Georgeg 21:06, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

MLS Team

The problem was you expanded the logos to 150px when they're only 120px gif images. They became pixelated as a result. Gateman1997 21:45, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Really, this one looked much better Image:NewYorkRedBulls.gif. Maybe would make more sense to get slightly higher resolution than 120x120. Many other football articles logos user higher resolution, for example: Image:Manchester United FC.png // Laughing Man 02:55, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Images from commons

Hi. It's not necessiasary to upload images from commons, especially to just reduce the image size. You can use the image with the filename as on commons like it was already uploaded here! That's the power of commons. I've replaced two uses that you've done this, one was to Nemanja Vidić. If you have done this to others, please remove the Wikipedia image and use the commons image. You can then mark the Wikipedia images with {{NowCommons}}. Thanks for understanding. --MECUtalk 00:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I think it is clear from the image above, if still you object, I propose updating the mid-resolution cc-licensed images instead of the poor quality "high-resolution" images that are currently on the Commons. // Laughing Man 03:07, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Confused over Random Threat

What the heck are you talking about? What does this message mean? (Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, as you did to Nikola Tesla, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. // Laughing Man 21:17, 9 January 2007 (UTC)) Who are you? What gives you the right to decide what is vandalism? How can you ban me? Why have you even messaged me about some small change I made a while ago when you could have just changed the page to suit your needs? Why do you care so much about the tesla page?

Perhaps all these questions should be answered before you make random unfounded accusations to people about vandalism?—Preceding unsigned comment added by Mtw416 (talkcontribs) 02:39, April 7, 2007

Based upon the fact that your second contribution here was removing content from the Nikola Tesla article, I wanted to make clear what would happen if you continue editing in this manner. Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Also, in case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button Image:Wikisigbutton.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when.

Firefox-logo.svg removed from your user page

An image or media file, Image:Firefox-logo.svg, has been removed from your userpage or user talk page because it was licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that fair use images should only be used in the article namespace. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. Thank you for your cooperation.

Iamunknown 05:10, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

It was never licensed as fair use, it was always licensed via the Mozilla license. Recently (April 15, 2007[2]) someone you have changed the usage of the this license on Wikipedia as previously the license has stated "Thus, use on Wikipedia, on either articles or on userpages, is acceptable as long as all of the above criteria are met." Thanks. // laughing man 22:48, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
The term "fair use images" on Wikipedia refers to any image that does not allow unrestricted commercial reuse and derivative works. Because the Mozilla license only permits use if the image's use is:
  • non-confusing and non-disparaging
  • not used commercially
  • not modified
  • not high resolution
i.e. we cannot use it for unrestricted commercial reuse and derivative works, its use on Wikipedia must meet the Wikipedia:Fair use criteria. No. 9 specifically says that, "Fair use images may be used only in the article namespace. Used outside article space, they are not covered under the fair use doctrine." BTW, if you are interested in fair use on Wikipedia, there are a number of threads happening right now at Wikipedia talk:Fair use. Regards, Iamunknown 22:54, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Umm, no. For your convience, I will post the license of the image, with my added emphasis on what I would like you read carefully:
Some rights reserved This file contains a logo for a Mozilla product (such as the Mozilla Firefox browser or the Mozilla Thunderbird email client), and is protected by copyright and/or trademark by the Mozilla Foundation and/or its subsidiary Mozilla Corporation. According to the Mozilla trademark policy, the logo is free to use as long as:
  • It is non-confusing and non-disparaging;
  • It is not used commercially;
  • It is not modified; and
  • It is not high resolution.

Wikipedia enforces a very important additional criteria for use:

  • Mozilla logos are not free and may only be used where no free equivalent could be created.

Furthermore, a Mozilla FAQ reads, "Can I put Firefox or Thunderbird banners on my website? Can I link to you?" Answer: "Thanks for your support :-) Of course you may. We have button programs for exactly this:"[3]. From mozilla.org "Put one or more of these buttons on your website to help us spread the word about Firefox. We appreciate it!"

Thus, use on Wikipedia, on either articles or on userpages, is acceptable as long as all of the above criteria are met.

The only criteria that might be questioned was "may only be used where no free equivalent could be created." How can a company logo be replicated without copying the original, if you changed it would not be the logo. Give me a fucking break a 43x43 logo of Mozilla Firefox is fair use. Please re-read the Mozilla license and you will see how Fair use #9 doesn't apply to version of the license above, thanks. // laughing man 03:50, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
If you think that I am misleading you, I invite you to request clarification at Wikipedia talk:Fair use. --Iamunknown 03:52, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
No, I don't think you are misleading me, I think you are misunderstanding the license. // laughing man 03:54, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
The license originally did appear as you post above. I think that the revision of the license, however, was wrong. I don't think that I am misunderstanding what it should have been and what it now is. Again, if you would like an outside opinion, the editors who frequent Wikipedia talk:Fair use and Wikipedia talk:Copyrights are, admittedly, more knowledgeable than I in many regards and would be willing to offer an opinion. --Iamunknown 03:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
What you think or feel about the previous license is not relevant in this discussion. Please re-read my posts and you will I have been stating the same thing from the beginning. Bottom line is the image usage was not in violation of the license until you decided to change the license of the image. Thanks. // laughing man 04:07, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
I understand that. I am not mad at you, nor am I (I feel) lacking in good faith. I just notified you that the image was incorrect, that I removed it and that I asked you not to replace it. I apologise if I seemed aggressive or rude; I do not intend to be. --Iamunknown 05:14, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
You don't seem to be aggressive of rude, you appear to not be willing to accept the fact that you were wrong to post your original generic warning template posted on my talk page. // laughing man 04:23, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand how I was wrong. --Iamunknown 04:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

It looks like someone has handled it by protecting your userpage, I have also warned the user. This is obviously a previously established older user here (I have an idea of who it is already) because I have not been very active in editing recently since I have been very busy IRL. I wouldn't worry about it too much. There are a lot of idiots on Wikipedia unfortunately, and I know it's frustrating since it feels like you're wasting you time dealing with them. I think the goal of some of these people is to purposely frustrate other Wikipedians who they disagree with to drive them away. Please try to keep this in mind and keep up the great work you're been doing here! // laughing man 18:45, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

Flickr images

Hi. So is it okay to upload any image from Flickr onto wikipedia, as long as you state the author, source etc? Sir-Nobby 17:43, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Not all images, for example, many images are licensed as "All Rights Reserved" by the author. Only Attribution and Attribution-ShareAlike licensed images are acceptable by current Wikipedia policy. You can view the Creative Commons section of flickr and use the appropriate license subpage to help narrow your search. // laughing man 01:07, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

OK thanks laughing man, you've helped a lot. Sir-Nobby 19:50, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

So for example could this image be used in David Edgar's article? I found it by searching for Attribution-ShareAlike images.

Attribution-ShareAlike is fine (what is listed on flickr the license of the image). The description text says otherwise regarding CanadaSoccer.com, so in this case (and based on other images uploaded by author) seems like they are copyrighted. Perhaps the best thing to do is to contact the author to clarify the license. Personally, I would upload the image if I were you, as it will improve the article and license currently listed on flickr is fine, although there *might* be concerns raised by the copyright paranoid users here on Wikipedia. // laughing man 17:54, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

So even though each webpage at Flickr containing the image URLs is marked "Copyright © 2007 Yahoo! Inc. All rights reserved.", it is okay to crop and publish the image on Wikipedia? That's hard to believe. I'm thinking of this recent addition in particular. Ref (chew)(do) 00:34, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

It will be nice if you can post them somewhere else.

Hi,

I stumbled upon User:Laughing Man/sandbox/Tnavbar-header. It appears that what you're trying to do is Wikipedia:Template test cases. If you agree, I'd like to move your test page to Template:Tnavbar-header/testcases to conform to the new standard. Thanks. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 14:27, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Please go ahead, we created the page before there was an attempt to standardize testing of templates, I think it's a great idea! // laughing man 14:29, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Done. Enjoy! --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 14:40, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Re: too nice? ;)

Well, I don't think of myself as a polite person, but that's why it makes me even more glad when someone else thinks that way :-) I think that we should consider every contribution, except for blatant vandalism and rubbish as valuable and try to incorporate it into the articles. For example, when someone adds info on the ethnicity of the players that have played in Red Star back in 1991, it is not vandalism, but it is of almost no value to the reader. However, it is obvious that's not vandalism, and there was a reason from the point of view of that particular contributor to incorporate that info into the article. So, we have to be very careful and to make a balance between the significant informations and the unuseful rubbish some people try to add here. I have that problem almost all the time I am here, and that's why consensus is such a good thing. I'll try to make myself more intollerant in the future, however ;) --Vitriden 11:14, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bilo jednom...

It's obvious that the editor is a new to Wikipedia (see his contribution history) and I would also be put off by the fact that I new article I created was being discussed for deletion. I think it's a natural reaction to get defensive, and instead of trying to understand that and explain what we need to do, you chastise the editor further by saying you don't appreciate his "snarky" comments. I'm sure he doesn't appreciate this whole process (or fully understand it), and your comment is just being more negative and making his experience in the AfD even worse. I've seen other editors with potential scared away before, and I would rather it not happen again. // laughing man 13:04, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
His comment was snarky, though. That whole "intent to ruin" trash was obviously intended to annoy us. Guess it was successful in my case. JuJube 18:12, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Tesla

Hi. With all due respect, why did you revert my change to Tesla's article? Isn't it desirable for people to understand the location of his birth? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frankman (talkcontribs) 14:19, June 29, 2007 (UTC)

Because the issue was discussed numerous times and a consensus was reached amongst editors of the article. It seems your don't care for the consensus. I suggest you take it up on the article talk page instead of trying to forcefully trying to push "your" version. // laughing man 15:06, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

NDH territory

I undid your reversion on the Ustaše page concerning the territory over which the regime ruled/governed. It is misleading to say "Croatia." The so-called Independent State of Croatia did not include Istria, and Dalmatia was quickly ceded to Italy. On the other hand it did include the whole of Bosnia-Hercegovina and part of Serbia (Sandžak). This is clearly expressed in several of the books/websites cited. I am not aware of any that say "Croatia." Regards Kirker 11:17, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Joey Barton image

Hi. I'm working on Barton's article, and noticed that the Image:JoeyBarton.jpg is slightly less clearer than the same image uploaded onto Wikimedia Commons. How can I put the one from Commons on to the wikipedia article? It is probably quite obvious but I'm not sure how it's done. Any help would be very much appreciated. Sir-Nobby 21:34, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

They are actually the same exact image! Essentially the Wikipedia image page is an "article" that simply inherits or includes everything from the commons page of the same name. The reason why one might seem clearer is that the image previews are in different resolutions, but the actual image is the same resolution. If you look on my talk page, you can see a similar problem that I had, as it seems however these high resolution images are being resized, there seems to be a quality loss. What I ended up doing was to get a resized, lower-resolution image and re-uploading it, which resulted in much clearer image.
I'm actually not sure what the "proper" way to handle this, and I'll try to look it up myself to point you in the right direction, but looking the Joey Barton article it seems fine to me. Was there an example page you had in mind that didn't look right? // laughing man 21:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

No there wasn't, I just couldn't work out why the one on commons looked better. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm trying to get the article to FA quality so am trying to make any improvements possible. Sir-Nobby 19:45, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Kosovo: country debate

Hello. There's a discussion going on Talk:List of countries as to whether or not Kosovo should be included in that list. You have an interest in Serbia-related articles and I thought you might be interested. The articles List of countries and Annex to the list of countries (where the inclusion criteria reside) are both relevant. Cheers. DSuser 13:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi again. It's probably a minor point, but there a discussion and vote going on at Talk:Kosovo#Kosovo:_terminology as to whether or not it's better to use Kosovo rather than Kosovan or Kosovar in the Wikipedia articles. Perhaps you have no interest, in which case sorry to bother you! DSuser 15:50, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Hoax or falsity is not a speedy criteria for deletion; I will list it at WP:AFD instead. Carlossuarez46 04:51, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes it is. Please see WP:CSD#G1. It is clearly vandalism. // laughing man 05:13, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Until the patern was established, it was hard to make that call. Now it's gone. BTW, I permanently blocked the author and am seeking confirmation of the block at WP:ANI since I've never done a permanent block before (I'm a new admin) and want to get some warm and fuzzies there. FYI. Thanks for helping out on these articles, I see someone else was WP:BOLD in redirecting the other one to another guy with the same name. Carlossuarez46 07:02, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

question 2

Why don't you want that article updated?

Dear laughing man

I really appreciate the work you are putting into the wiki articles, but I don't understand why you want the FIFA 08 information to stay so limited when so much information is available.

The updates I did today are directly from EA Sports. I will gladly send you the documents proving everything. I am not sure what makes you think I'm interested in either spamming or page rank interest. The website I'm running is just a small site with the goal to keep people informed about FIFA 08.

I think the information I added gives the reader a valued inside into what to expect from the newest release.

So please reconsider.

Thank you.

Regards,

Dennisbp—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dennisbp (talkcontribs) 05:04, August 8, 2007 (UTC)Dennisbp 21:11, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

If you do have any information directly from EA Sports, use the EA site directly as a reference instead of your personal blog. I do appreciate your wanting to keep the article updated, but we must provide reliable sources to ensure information is accurate, especially in an article about a future release. Thanks. // laughing man 16:08, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately the information I have is from EA Sports' Press Room and you need to be a registered user to access it. I'll gladly send you the files. If that will convince you that the information is genuine ;) I don't spend an hour to update an article just for kicks :-) Dennisbp 21:10, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Then update the article with a reference to the press release instead of your blog. // laughing man 00:35, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

I'd love to. Do you want me to link to a pdf-file on my site then? As I mentioned the product descriptions aren't accessible for the public. They are downloadable Word-documents. I've copied them all onto my site in specific posts. Dennisbp 04:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

I've been in contact with EA Sports and I can send the official press releases to you. I honestly can't stand looking at the article knowing that so much valuable information is missing. I would love to mail the stuff to you and you can read it with your own eyes. Dennisbp 21:07, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Srpska Liga template

Hey there. I was thinking of making a Srpska Liga template, similar to {{Serbian Superliga}}. (Or you can make it, either way.) Would it be best if it's split into 4 different templates (West, East, Vojvodina, Beograd), or together as one template? Just wanted your thoughts on that. Thanks, --Bolonium 17:30, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

I've also recently been trying to cleanup the templates and just did some work on Superliga/Prva Liga and Superliga seasons templates, I haven't gotten to Srpska Liga yet :) I've been looking at the Football in England series of articles/templates as an example to follow the same pattern established there. After briefly looking at it now, we could expand the {{Football in Serbia}} Sprska Liga link to include in parenthesis these sub-divisions, and also have 4 teamlist templates. Let me know what you think.
I've also left a related message at Talk:Football in Serbia, so maybe we should discuss it there as I've noticed there are some new editors expanding these articles and would be nice if we could all collaborate on improving these templates/articles. // laughing man 17:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
How does this look? Srpska Liga (Voj, Beo, E, W)

Novak Djokovic

Why did you revert my move (which was not a "merge")? As I noted, I switched the redirect and the main article per WP:UE and fixed all the resulting double redirects. If I didn't do this right, you should either explain to me how to do it correctly, or fix it yourself. If you disagree with the switch, you should have noted that on the talk page. Thanks. --Tkynerd 02:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

No. I'm not required to spend my time limited editing on Wikipedia to hold your hand and help you, or do work I never intended to. Go help yourself. I fixed the inproper cut and paste move the fastest way possible which if left as is would be more trouble to deal with later. Perhaps if you had a different approach, you would gotten help from me. // laughing man 04:25, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
I'm not failing to WP:AGF, even though I found your actions not quite WP:CIVIL. Reverting a good-faith edit is itself uncivil and tends to show your own failure to WP:AGF. Thanks for your time. --Tkynerd 12:26, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Fixing a mistake you made [6] and not holding your hand along the way is not uncivil. // laughing man 14:08, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
OK, I should have said: Reverting a good-faith edit without explanation is itself uncivil. Otherwise, my point stands. --Tkynerd 23:23, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

Should we make a records article like they did on Football in England. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_records_in_England

Good work

Don't take any shit from that editor Downwards he's a loner who thinks deleting people's work will get him laid. FIFA 08

Hi

I'm trying to get new information on the FIFA site but a lot of this keeps getting changed. You seem to be the key editor for this page so I wonder if you could help me with this. I'm the Worldwide Football Community Manager at EA Sports working on FIFA.

Thanks

SVG images

Hey, Laughing Man. I don't work with SVG images that much, but I was wondering if you knew how to turn the white background of an image transparent. For example, this image. (I noticed you've uploaded an SVG with a transparent background before.) Take care, --Bolonium 02:25, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, I've got it now :P Sorry to have bothered. --Bolonium 03:05, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
Yep.. Now you know what I'm gonna do :) (Start whoring images =D) The only thing that's bothering me about replacing the football logos with svg ones is that you or anyone else might now get those annoying bot notices on your talk pages >_> --Bolonium 03:59, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Neo-Nazism in Croatia

Hello. You reverted my changes without explanation, maybe thinking I was vandalising the page. In fact, PaxEquilibrium had added a paragraph with unreferenced accusations against Croatia. He did provide a link to the Wiesenthal Center site, but I checked it and it has nothing regarding his claims. Maybe the info is not readily visible, but then he should provide a more specific reference. I told him so here. In the meantime, he was active on the Wikipedia, but didn't provide any references. Until he (or somebody else) provides them, the paragraph is simply slander and must be deleted. --Zmaj 07:01, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm assuming your refering your deletion of the following text:
"The Simon Wiesenthal Center has in September 2007 brought the study that Croatia did the least of all countries to fight Neo-Nazism. The case of Ivo Rojnica, the Ustaša commander of Dubrovnik from 1941 responsible for the deaths of many Serbs, Roms and Jews, who still lives in peace in Buenos Aires in Argentina, is mentioned in particular."
It seemed to be referenced in the Neo-Nazism in Croatia article when I restored the deletion. I'll see if I can find a direct link. // laughing man 00:50, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

RfM for Djokovic

Hello, Yano has requested mediation for the Đokovic article here: Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Novak Đoković. I was invited and decided to list you as an involved party as well, since you've made some constructive comments. Thanks, --Bolonium 21:14, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Novak Djokovic

Just wondering why you restored the audio to the article - as far as I can tell the family name is inaudible? Thedreamdied 18:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Well, the full name is audible in the .ogg file, it just seems the default java applet player the Commons is using (Cortado?) somehow is not properly playing it back. If you actually download the file and play it works (see vorbis.com for codecs for your platform). I'm not sure who we can contact regarding this issue. // laughing man 20:15, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
It doesn't play correctly in VLC or WMP either. But if the file is correct then its not wikipedia's problem i suppose, my mistake. Thedreamdied 10:22, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Did you try downloading the codec as I suggested? There are some further discussion regarding this on the article talk page now. // laughing man 19:06, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
