Does anybody know, whether this canyon is named after Stan Laurel? -- 80.129.58.251 13:07, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
- I can't imagine that it would have been. More likely, it was named after the California bay laurel, a native tree which grows in canyons. -Will Beback 21:11, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use.
