The Lauterpacht Centre for International Law (LCIL) [1] is a world-renowned research centre based at the Faculty of Law, Cambridge, England. It was founded in 1985 by Sir Elihu Lauterpacht [2] under the name The Research Centre for International Law. It was given its present name in 1997 after Sir Hersch Lauterpacht. The purpose of the centre is to advance international law. [3] The centre is currently directed by Professor James Crawford SC, FBA. [4]
