Laurus Technical Institute, originally founded in 1986, became accredited in 1991 by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). Operating as ETI Careers Institute, the school began offering travel and tourism programs in 1986. In 2007, the school changed its name to Laurus Technical Institute. Laurus Technical Institute now offers programs in the allied health and allied trade programs.

Laurus Technical Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and authorized by Georgia's Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission. Laurus Technical Institute also participates in federal Title IV Student Assistance programs and is approved for the training of veterans in the state of Georgia.
