Laurie Brett (born May 2, 1970 in Hamilton, Scotland) is an actress who is best known for playing Jane Beale in EastEnders since 2004.
She has toured with Circo Magico, a travelling circus, in Mexico and Central America, played a prostitute in the London production of the musical Les Misérables (her singing and dancing skills have made her a regular in musical theatre), starred in fringe productions and made her television debut in London's Burning (as an office girl) in 1992. She has appeared in several television advertisements, including most notably Learn Direct Scotland commercials.
She made her first appearance in EastEnders in June 2004, at which time the character was known as Jane Collins. The character was widowed within months, and in 2007 married Ian Beale (played by Adam Woodyatt).
On 30th May, Laurie appeared on the Paul O'Grady show.

Brett was born in Hamilton, Scotland. She studied at the London Studio Centre. She is also fluent in Spanish.
