Laurent Fuahea

Laurent Fuahea (5 September 192720 June 2005) was the Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Wallis et Futuna from 1974 until his death. Fuahea was the first person born in Wallis and Futuna to become a bishop in the Roman Catholic Church when he was consecrated as such on 16 July 1972. He was ordained a priest in 1957 and succeeded Michel-Maurice-Augustin-Marie Darmancier as bishop of Wallis and Futuna on 25 April 1974. Upon his death, he was succeeded by Ghislain Marie Raoul Suzanne de Rasilly.
