Laurene Landon was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and moved to California with her parents at the age of four. As a young woman she entered California State University-Los Angeles and began training in their Police Academy program, but decided that law enforcement was not for her when she came to the realization that she may someday have to use a gun.[1] So the statuesque young lady decided to try her hand at acting and began her career as an extra in films. She took extensive acting training and absorbed everything her teachers and coaches taught her.

The leggy Laurene began acting in a bit part in 1979's Bitter Heritage, also released as "Naked in My Grave. She was also cast in the role of a featured skater in Roller Boogie in that same year. She was subsequently cast in another small role in 1981's Full Moon High. From there her acting fortunes changed when she was cast alongside Peter Falk and Vicki Frederick in the role that was to propel her to cult status in the wrestling world, a moniker which lasts to this day: the role of Molly in ...All the Marbles, a film whose alternate title was initially designated as The California Dolls. According to Miss Landon, a very physical and athletic woman, this was to date her most satisfying role. The successful film was the last directing effort by Robert Aldrich [2].
She went on to play Velda to Mike Hammer in the 1982 film I, the Jury and showed her comic ability in Airplane II: The Sequel playing one of the stewardesses. The pretty blond is also known for appearing in B-movies such as Hundra, Yellow Hair and the Fortress of Gold, and Maniac Cop. In her career she has had the good fortune of working with such stars as Peter Falk, Eric Roberts, Bette Davis, Robert Davi, Armand Assante, Michael Moriarty, and Barbara Carrera, among others.
