Laurence Freeman

Fr. Laurence Freeman, O.S.B., is a Benedictine monk and priest.
After reading English at New College, Oxford he was briefly employed in Merchant banking and then began to assist John Main in running a small Christian meditation community in Montreal, Canada. While in Montreal he studied theology at the Université de Montréal and at McGill University and he was ordained to the priesthood in 1980.
Fr. Laurence is the director of The World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM), which is a global network of Christian meditation groups that practice the way of Christian meditation taught by Fr. John Main, O.S.B. He is also the founder and director of the John Main Center for Meditation and Inter-religious Dialogue at Georgetown University
