Lauren Powley

Lauren Powley was born in Mountaintop, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland where she played for the National Championship field hockey team. She currently plays for the U.S. Team and has 37 international caps. Lauren graduated from Wyoming Seminary high school in Kingston, Pennsylvania, in 2002.[1]

Powley will compete in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China as a member of the United States Field Hockey Team.[2] The team earned a spot in the Olympic games after defeating Belgium in the Olympic Qualifier championship game on April 28, 2008.

The U.S. Field Hockey team placed sixth in the 2006 Hockey World Cup, where Powley was a member of the team. Powley has also played in Chile, Italy and Puerto Rico. The team trains in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In 2006, Powley biked across the United States with her father, Ken, to raise money for the U.S. team.
