Lauren Bernofsky

Dr. Lauren Bernofsky (b. 1967, Rochester, MN) is a Baltimore area composer of songs, choral music, chamber music, and orchestral music. Her music is characterized by rhythmic excitement, frequent adherence to classical forms, a keen awareness of the capabilities and limitations of the instruments, and an acknowledged debt to Eastern European influences. Dr. Bernofsky has been on the faculty of the Peabody Conservatory. Her primary publishers are Boosey & Hawkes and The FJH Music Company, Inc..
