Laura Freixas

Laura Freixas (1958-) is a Spanish novelist, short story writer, and newspaper columnist.

Freixas was born in Barcelona and holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona. From 1987 to 1994 she ran the literary series El espejo de tinta (The Ink Mirror) at the Spanish publishing house Grijalbo. She worked as a literary critic for the Spanish newspaper El País from 1995 to 2000, and is now a weekly columnist for another Spanish newspaper, La Vanguardia. She currently lives in Madrid with her two children.
