[edit] English name
I checked out the National Scout Organisations, and the name of this organization in English is The Scout and Guide Central Organization of Latvia. I think we should change it to that name. --evrik 22:47, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- The organization gives it as Latvian Scout and Guide central organisation [1] (note the BE spelling!). --jergen 11:55, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Few things
The Scout and Guide Motto is "Esi Modrs", translating as "Be Prepared" in Latvian, the response to which is "Arvien Modra!", "Always Prepared!". The Little Fire Motto is "Centīšos!". The Latvian noun for a single Scout is Skauts. Acctualy "modrs" is watchful, I guess "Be Prepared" is some international motto, but, translated in Latvian, it is motto of soviet pioneers, not scouts and guides. Translation for Little fire motto is "I will try". Also scouts would rather answer in musculine gender - "modrs" and their age groups are Cub Scouts - mazskauts, Scouts - skauts, Rovers - Lielskauts---- Xil/talk 10:41, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
