Latvijas dzelzceļš

Latvijas dzelzceļš or LDz is the main state-owned railway company in Latvia with more than 13000 employees. It owns 1933.8 km of 1520 mm broad gauge railway districts and 33.4 km of 750 mm narrow gauge railway districts in Latvia [1].
It has 7 daughter companies:
- Pasažieru Vilciens (Passenger Train)
- Starptautiskie pasažieru pārvadājumi (International Passenger Transportations)
- VRC Zasulauks (Reconstruction centre Zasulauks)
- LDZ apsardze (LDz Security)
- LDz infrastruktūra (LDz Infrastructure)
- LDz Cargo
- LDz ritošā sastāva serviss (LDz Rolling Stock Service)
The main passenger lines are electrified:
- Rīga Passenger station – Jelgava;
- Torņakalns – Tukums 2;
- Rīga Passenger station – Zemitāni - Skulte;
- Rīga Passenger station – Aizkraukle;
- Zemitāni – Šķirotava.
