The Second Annual Latin Grammy Awards winners were announced during a press conference October 30, 2001 at the Conga Room in Los Angeles, California.

The awards were to have been presented in Los Angeles, CA with a CBS national telecast September 11, 2001, but the telecast was cancelled because of terrorist attacks that morning in New York City, Arlington, Virginia, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The live webcast and press conference were hosted by Jimmy Smits, who was to have hosted the aborted broadcast, and Paul Rodriguez.
