The Latin Grammy Award for Best Banda Album is given every year since the 2nd Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, which took place at a non-televised press conference on October 30, 2001 at the Conga Room Club in Los Angeles, California.
On the Latin Grammy Awards of 2000 the category for this field was named: Best Banda Performance, which was awarded to Banda El Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga with Lo Mejor de Mi Vida.
Banda El Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga is the biggest winner in this category with three wins, in 2001, 2004 and 2005.
