Latchkey Recordings LLC is an American music company based in New York City and Los Angeles, California which was founded in 2006 by entertainment attorney Mark Schwartz and A&R / Producer / Journalist Kether Gallu-Badat. According to their website, Latchkey's vision is one of independence and self-reliance that supports eclectic, multi-genre music.
The label’s first release was the producer-driven album entitled "The Most Underrated" by hip hop producer Domingo. Released via Koch Entertainment in early 2007, the album featured appearances by Beatnuts, Guru, Masta Ace, Kool G. Rap, and other MCs. Other acts on Latchkey include Gabby Glaser, Kool G. Rap (who's part of Latchkey's partnership with Chinga Chang Records) and Team Blackout (the new rap group featuring Rev. Run's son JoJo Simmons).
Latchkey was most recently featured in several episodes of the MTV reality show Run's House where JoJo Simmons and his Team Blackout group officially signed an agreement to record for the label.[1]
