LaTangela Sherman

LaTangela is a singer/songwriter and producer from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She works diligently as an advocacy volunteer with the American Heart and Stroke Association. She is the Louisiana State Ambassador for the Power to End Stroke Campaign, which raises awareness of stroke and heart disease. LaTangela has organized a monthly event called “Walking Through With Family and Friends," where she invites all communities to come out to get health screenings and health information, as well as exercise for better health. The Advocate and WBRZ-TV have covered LaTangela’s efforts for this life-saving event. She is the recipient of the Louise McFarland Award for Excellence in Public Health Communication awarded by the Louisiana Public Health Association. LaTangela is an on-air personality and the Production Director for Citadel Broadcasting Corporation, beginning as a Teen Radio Talk Show Host and an On-Air Personality. She is also a recording artist/songwriter and producer of music, as well as an aspiring actress. She has been featured on the Apollo Kids Amateur Night and It's Showtime in Harlem and also featured on the 2004 Teen Summit Compilation Album. LaTangela hosted the live segment of the talk show Executive Park. She is the Hostess of WrecTV in New Orleans and is in the process of taping her new TV Talk show which is self titled "The LaTangela Show". LaTangela is the founder of the non-profit organization G.I.R.L.S. and B.O.Y.S. Inc.(Getting It Right Living Strong) and (Being Outstanding Young Soldiers) LaTangela has a Doctor of Philosophy in the expertise of Theology and Counseling.
