LaTangela Newsome (born October 4, 1984 in Florida), born Missy Newsome, is an actress and singer, best known for her role on the series Taina as Maritza Hogg, Taina's troublemaking arch nemesis. She has appeared in music videos including Mariah Carey's "Fantasy", Jodeci's "Get On Up", Subway's "I'll Make Your Dreams Come True" and Debra Cox's "Where Do We Go From Here". Her film credits include roles in Fresh with Sean Nelson, Sunset Park (Danny DeVito Films) and Mrs. Winterbourne with Ricki Lake. Newsome has also appeared in many industrial films, PSAs and has done voice-over work in several animated films. Currently, she is a member of the critically acclaimed City Kids Repertory Group in Manhattan. She has appeared on "Showtime in Harlem", singing "Through The Fire by Chaka Khan. Currently, she resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana DJing on a few radio stations.
