I've updated the user box with a new one. The old one, {{user religion|LDS}}, didn't work. Jaksmata 17:40, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LDS format question

Chanceinator asked me this question on my talk page ([1]) and I am going to answer it here, since it could impact this category:

I noticed (or at least think I did?) that you started the category for LDS wikipedians
I noticed in the definition of Latter Day Saint that it refers to the movement while Latter-day Saint refers to a member of the Salt Lake-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To conform to wikipedia formatting (as well as the LDS Church formatting of "Latter-day Saint,"), do you think we should move/retitle the category? Thanks!

I didn't start the category, I just made the user box... Short answer: I'm not sure. Long answer: I think "Latter Day Saints" is a group that includes "Latter-day Saints". While most of the users in the category identify themselves specifically as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, there are a few that don't mention to which (if any) of the organizations they belong. I don't think it's inaccurate to refer to any of them as "Latter Day Saints".

A Wikipedia category purist (if such a thing exists) would create a sub-category of "Latter-day Saint Wikipedians" below "Latter Day Saint Wikipedians". The user box could then be modified to add users to the new (sub) category. People who don't use the box would have to move themselves, if they so desire. Jaksmata 20:24, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
