[edit] Usage

[edit] Syntax

{{Last.fm|name in Last.fm|text link}}

[edit] Examples

  • {{Last.fm|Belle+and+Sebastian|Belle and Sebastian}} gives
Belle and Sebastian at Last.fm

or

  • just {{Last.fm}} for a page in Last.fm with the same name with Wikipedia's. say, in Wikipedia's ABBA page, type {{Last.fm}} gives
ABBA at Last.fm

[edit] Notes

  • All spaces in the first parameter should be written as plus sign "+"
    • underscore "_" sometimes works, but not guaranteed/recommended. e.g. Modern+dog [1] (found) Modern_dog [2] (not found)

It seems this acts weird if a pagename has a space in it, is that possible? Example: Sonata Arctica, the Last.fm template is used on the bottom of external links, and it links to http://www.last.fm/music/Sonata instead of http://www.last.fm/music/Sonata+Arctica. It seems this happens because Last.fm uses + instead of spaces in links. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be really sweet. Sneltrekker 21:24, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for making me aware of that. I tried to fix the problem and guess what..it didn't work...any help from people who are willing and capable will be greatly appreciated. -- SoothingR(pour) 11:38, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
For now I changed the link on Sonata Arctica to a manual link. I'd try myself to see if I could help with fixing it, but I don't know Wikimarkup enough yet. It's still very usably though for bands whose name is just one word Sneltrekker 17:39, 23 November 2005 (UTC)
Hi, I've made a workaround that somewhat fixes the issue. There are two or three pages that break using it. Usage: {{Last.fm|URL+text|Link Text}}, {{Last.fm|2=Link Text}}, {{Last.fm|URL+text}}, {{Last.fm}}, respectively. Both parameters default to page name. Here's the code:
[[Image:lastfm.gif]][http://www.last.fm/music/{{{1|{{PAGENAME}}}}} {{{2|{{PAGENAME}}}}}] at [[Last.fm]]

Seems cool...thanks :) -- SoothingR(pour) 09:45, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

the result of the discussion was keep; I've therefore removed {{tfd|Last.fm}}{ from the template. -- Jon Dowland 15:12, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] April 2008 TfD

Please change the {{tfd}} template to {{tfd-inline}} (especially whilst this is used in todays featured article...). Done.
