This article is within the scope of the WikiProject Abkhazia, a collaborative effort to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Abkhazia.

To the best of my knowledge (and I am NOT an expert at all), the ownership of Abkhazia is disputed. (At least according to Abkhazia.) If there's been a change in that, please let me know, otherwise I'll change the tone of that sentence in a few days. Isn't it written clearly enough about the status of Abkhazia? (de facto independent republic internationally recognised as part of Georgia). This is one of the accepted terms in Wikipedia and is used not only here but in a lot of other articles related to Abkhazia (starting with the intro of the Abkhazia article).
