[edit] Verifiability

The information User:Docmgmt added to Laserfiche is uncited and unverifiable. For instance, NAWBO article and AIIM article do not support the statement that a client, a large Japanese auto manufacturer, underwent a class-action lawsuit. Alex 15:09, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

  • Let me quote from the NAWBO article, paragraph 3: "Her vision began to take shape in 1981, while Wacker was conducting a study for one of the major Japanese automakers. American Honda engaged her to design a system to help manage documents, primarily for litigation support. By the time she finished the project requirement analysis, it was clear that the current technology was unable to handle large document volumes cost-effectively." Let me quote from the AIIM article (see the 8th question) "e-doc: Right around then is when you started Laserfiche. Wacker: In 1981, we were doing a study for one of the Japanese auto companies to design a system to help them manage their documents, primarily for litigation support. • Now, then, if the issues is that the word "class action lawsuit" isn't used in either citation, then perhaps it DOES need to be edited. I mean, there's a certain amount of interpretation of events that support the claim that Honda DID undergo a class action lawsuit in the early 80s, Although the citations mention that in 1981 Honda hired a software company to provide "litigation support" involving large numbers of documents and attorneys, it doesn't explicitly say the words "class-action lawsuit." I suppose the class-action lawsuit is a public document, and hence can be cited, is that what you think could be done?--Docmgmt 16:19, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
    • Come to think of it, the words "class action lawsuit" really aren't enhancing the article. I'll reword it. --Docmgmt 16:29, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

I also pulled the part about naming the chief software engineer, and the part about additive synchronization of databases. Although they are verifiable, they aren't really enhancing the article. And I pulled the External Links section, since it seemed to encourage linkspam by Laserfiche resellers --Docmgmt 20:20, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Now that I've learned how to do the citation formatting, I've been going through the article to clean it up.--Docmgmt 21:28, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

But if it looks like all notability ended in 1993, that's not the case. I just don't want to write any more new items until the deletion issue is resolved. --Docmgmt 22:12, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
