[edit] Synopsis
Lastikman is a Filipino Action/Drama/Comedy Fantaserye based on Mars Ravelo's comic book character of the same name, featured in Mango Comics. The series stars Vhong Navarro as Lastikman and Iya Villania as his love interest, Yellena. The character has also appeared in comics and a movie adaptation.
Lastikman is a superhero that possesses the ability to stretch and distort his body, and takes his alias from the word "elastic". He is a half-human/half-alien named "Eskappar" (Jarius Aquino) from an extragalactic planet, though he was named Miguel when he came to Earth. Lastikman spends much of the series fighting against monsters created by Agaddon (Ian Veneracion), a Harraian scientist, while searching for his mother, Ruth (Dawn Zulueta).
While living on Earth, Miguel lives with his foster family, Caloy, Dolores, and Madonna. He also becomes friends with Chikoy and Sandy, and falls in love with Yellena. Later on, he discovers his powers of elasticity, and becomes "Lastikman".
Lastikman spends much of the series fighting against Jared Evilone's monsters, but eventually the Harraian Medallion he wears reveals that Cynthia Evilone is in fact his mother, Ruth.

[edit] Prologue: The Adventure Begins
Amon Labao, the matriarch of the planet Igbao in the galaxy Harraio, orders her subjects to conduct extensive experiments upon humans, their first being the abducted Ruth Abelgas. However, one scientist, Irroian, aids in her escape, and the pair fall in love, leading to Ruth giving birth to Eskappar.
When the Council determines that Ruth must be executed, Irroian seeks the help of his friend Agaddon in returning her to Earth, but a Council spy named Maraam learns that Ruth is with Irroian and arrests him. Meanwhile, Agaddon escapes with Ruth to Earth, and is determined by the Council to be the "actual" traitor.
Once released, Irroian continues to raise Eskappar in Harraio, but because Eskappar assumes human form, Irroian eventually attempts to escape with him to Earth. for fear for his son's life, he eventually attempts to escape with his son to Earth. Irroian is shot by Maraam's guards in the attempt, but he manages to send Irroian to Earth with Butao, a robot containing a recording of Irroian with instructions for Eskappar to search for Ruth.
After Eskappar lands on Earth, he sees a man, Caloy, and follows him. However, when Caloy falls into a surging river, Eskappar uses his elasticity to save Caloy's life. Caloy eventually assumes that Eskappar is a lost foreigner, and takes him home, where he names him "Miguel" and raises him. Several years later, Miguel witnesses the death of his foster father, and decides to become Lastikman.
[edit] Chapter 1: The Seductive Moth
Susan Navarro, an ex-beauty queen and interior decorator, is kidnapped by Agaddon and transformed into "Mothra", a moth-like monster that spreads respiratory illnesses and manipulates men. She later appears in a park, where she infects passerby and kills them. A photographer named Albert chances upon the scene, and is left alive by Mothra in order to spread the story of the virus outbreak. Later that evening, Susan's mother recognizes her as Mothra from a photograph in a newspaper, and wonders if this is a punishment for her relationship with Danny. At the same time, Evilone Pharmaceutical offers to find a cure for Mothra's victims.
Meanwhile, Miguel is depressed because Yellena is planning to reconcile with Ken. He avoids his friends and takes a day off to take his mind off Yellena. When his friends check on him that evening, Miguel announces that he wants to drop out of school. However, his friends dissuade him from his rash decision. The next day, Miguel returns to school, and is again attracted to Yellena. [edit] Agaddon's monsters
Each of the seven main villains symbolize one the seven deadly sins or cardinal vices.
[edit] Mothra (Susan Navarro)
Susan Navarro is an ex-beauty queen turned fashion designer who used her beauty to attract married men and get their money. Her mother was abused by her father, and Susan took on the persona of the "other woman" to prove that she could control men. Due to her alluring physique, Agaddon abducted her and transformed her into the butterfly monster Mothra, representing Lust.
As Mothra, Susan can fly, and spray two kinds of powder: one that infects bystanders with respiratory diseases, and another that manipulates men into obeying her.She can also make powerful gusts with her wings. However, she is extremely weak to water. Mothra is eventually killed when she attempts to impale Lastikman with pole, but it ricochets off him and instead impales her. She attempts to flee, but Lastikman turns a hose on her and destroys her. Portrayed by Sunshine Cruz-Montano.
[edit] Beautiki (Ines Samantela)
Ines Samantela is a PE teacher at POPU ("Pearl of the Pacific University"). She grew up in her aunt's abusive household, and due to envy of those around her she began spreading rumors and gossip about them. She was friends with Sandy, having helped her to try for the "Mr. & Ms. POPU" pageant, while Sandy talked her out of committing suicide after her boyfriend Jerson stole from and then left her for another teacher. However, Agaddon then abducted and convinced her to take revenge on those who wronged her by being transformed into the lizard monster Beautiki,[2] representing Envy.
As Beautiki, Ines can regenerate from nearly any wound, camouflage herself like a chameleon, and spit an acid which causes third degree burns and seizures. She can also whip her victim with her acid-covered tongue or tail. She attempts to kill those who hurt her, including her aunt, and eventually attack POPU during the coronation of "Mr. & Ms. POPU". Lastikman takes the shape of a mosquito to lure her onto a chandelier, and when the chandelier collapses under her weight, she falls and is impaled through the stomach by its base. Portrayed by Saicy Aguila.
[edit] Alingasaw (Albert Langitan)
Albert Langitan is an ex-convict turned photojournalist who wants but is unable to spend time with his son. He was quite poor when he met his wife, and turned to a life of crime to provide for his family. He was imprisoned for his crimes and tortured by fellow inmates, and when he was released, he discovered that his wife had remarried and his son believed his step-father to be his real father. He became a photojournalist, but was fired for failing to get pictures of Lastikman. He was forced to live on the streets, becoming negligent in his hygiene, and wanted to die because he believes the world treats him like crap. Agaddon abducts him and convinces him to take revenge on the world by being transformed into the putrid monster Alingasaw,[3] representing Sloth.
He worked with Morphino to destroy Lastikman, but Lastikman disarms Morphino and his falchion impales Alingasaw through the torso. Alingasaw is forced to release more insects, but his supply is exhausted, and his "life link", a large centipede, is crushed by Lastikman, destroying him. Portrayed by James Blanco.
[edit] Morphino (Mang Ninoy)
He represents Gluttony. He has acquired the abilities of a praying mantis as well as assume the physical form of another person at will. He worked for Agaddon and teamed-up with Alingasaw to destroy Lastikman.
- Mang Ninoy - Mang Ninoy has his own sari-sari store in Brgy. Bagong Unlad. A former 'Saudi Boy', his shrewdness regarding money matters forged him as one tough businessman. His love of material wealth will lead him to wreak havoc as Morphino. Portrayed by Jomari Yllana.
Origin
When he discovered Alingasaw had a hard time destroying Lastikman by himself, Jared decided that he needs another minion to aid Alingasaw and make the elimination of Lastikman easier. This way, he found Ninoy as a perfect tool. Knowing Ninoy's hunger for money, Jared used his riches to corrupt Ninoy to work for him as the shapeshifting Morphino: his personal spy, assassin as well as Alingasaw's fearsome partner.
Abilities
- Shapeshifting - Morphino has the ability to morph into anyone i.e. he has assumed himself as Chikoy, Raffy, Dolores, Cynthia Evilone, Sandy Evilone, Madonna (who plants video cameras in Dolores' home, thus revealing Miguel's alter-ego), and Caloy. He even impersonated Lastikman (during the Christmas season) by attacking public places as means to discredit the latter's heroic reputation. These impersonations are all part of Agaddon's plans by using Morphino's abilities.
- Superhuman Leap - Being infused with the skills of a praying mantis, Morphino also has the uncanny skill to leap at high altitudes or even from high places without injury.
- Combat Skills - When faced in hand-to-hand battle, Morphino is a one-man army with his skills in armed and unarmed combat.
Death
Morphino impersonated Miguel's foster father, Caloy. Because of that, Miguel/Lastikman didn't choose to hurt his adoptive dad, but he was caught off-guard. So Morphino (in Caloy's appearance) started to beat up Lastikman with a thick wooden pole. Morphino turns back to his real appearance while holding an armful of time bombs. He threw one at Lastikman and the rest of the people. Meanwhile, Lastikman deflected the time bombs, hurling them back to Morphino which detonated directly at him. Morphino died even before his body struck the pavement.
[edit] Lagablab (Ryan White)
(lit. Flame) He represents Wrath. Ryan White became a pyrokinetic maniac who could create a massive brushfire within seconds and burn anything he desires with fervent ease. Ryan became the villain as he is after allowing himself to be subject to Jared's experiments and work for him to destroy Lastikman. He was called Boy Posporo (lit. Match Man) by Lastikman until later when Jared officially named Ryan as Lagablab: the leader of the Foremen who Jared had turned into ninja-like assassins.
- Ryan White - Eldest son of Ayessa White and Yellena's manipulative big brother. Like Ken, Ryan is among the school's richest students called Foremen. The difference between the two though is that Ryan is best known for his hot moves on the dance floor. He frequently competes and wins in dance competitions only to be beaten later by Miguel, his defeat witnessed by his mother, Ayessa. Since then, Ryan had put the blame on Miguel of all the bad things that happened to his family. Being a hot-tempered, bitter and grudgeful man, Ryan usually plotted schemes to humiliate Miguel, but such plans backfired i.e. a connivance with Yellena caused her to really fall in love with Miguel instead of being merely a ploy. After Ken had left, Ryan became the de facto leader of the Foremen. Portrayed by Danilo Barrios.
Origin
Following Morphino's death, Jared originally planned to use Yellena as his next minion to destroy Lastikman, knowing that A man's heart (love) is his greatest weakness. However, the plan to abduct Yellena fails when Yellena herself dies after a car crash. As a result, Jared tells Toto to get Ryan. Toto had Ryan kidnapped and use him instead as a pawn to eliminate Lastikman by Jared. By telling the fact that Lastikman and Miguel are one, Jared influenced Ryan to work for him to exact revenge against Ryan's earlier humiliations from Miguel. And as an added bonus, Jared will aid in the recovery of Ryan's mother Ayessa who had suffered a stroke upon news of Yellena's death. With Ryan's consent, Jared made him into a being who can create and control fire, an ability advantageous against one of Lastikman's greatest weaknesses. As Lagablab, Ryan's powers and outfit represents the red hot intensity of his grudge against Miguel/Lastikman. Like real fire, Lagablab's greatest weakness is water; and if struck with it, it takes some time for him to dry himself and recover his "extinguished" fire abilities.
Abilities
- Pyrogenesis - Lagablab can combust air and create fire on his own, even without friction or fuel. Fire can erupt from his hands at his silent command. He can even ignite the trail of his footsteps with searing flames.
- Pyrokinesis - Lagablab can shape and manipulate his self-produced fire i.e. launch volleys of fireballs, firebolts, walls of fire, and long streams of fire from his hands. The impact of his projectiles create violent explosions and gradual burning.
- Human Incinerator - When the fight calls for desperation, Lagablab can raise the temperature of his body to unbearable levels. He charges at his opponent and grabs him, inflicting heavy-degree burns with heat way beyond the boiling point.
- Flight - Lagablab's fires are immune to the effects of wind, and he can even use them to his advantage. Like the engines of a rocket, he can ignite the flat of his feet to propel himself into flight and use his fire abilities while airborne.
The Three Foremen/Lagablab Force
- Brix - The purple assassin, called Boy Talong (lit. Eggplant Man) by Lastikman. He was given the ability to create and throw Power Balls of electrical energy from his hands. He was killed via "friendly fire" of Lagablab's own pyrokinetic powers during their battle with Lastikman. Portrayed by Ram Sagad
- Dominic/Don - The yellow assassin, called Boy Saging (lit. Banana Man) by Lastikman. He was given the Power Stick, a long Bō-staff as a weapon. When whirled, the staff creates powerful gusts of wind to blow out the opposition. During the four-on-one assault against Lastikman, Don is knocked out by Lastikman onto a sharp protruding metal pipe, impaling him and he dies a few moments later. Portrayed by Marvin Raymundo
- Lorenzo/Lee Boy - The red assassin, called Boy Makopa (lit. Rose-Apple Man) by Lastikman. He was given the Power Daggers that look like kunai. During their four-on-one assault against Lastikman, Lee Boy is thrown into a burning furnace where metals are dissolved, killing him immediately. Portrayed by Jon Avila
Death
Lagablab and Brix attack a pro-Lastikman rally, forcing Lastikman to come out. Brix was later killed by Lagablab's own fire attacks, and the latter was enraged and madly attacks Lastikman, engaging him in an aerial battle. Jared Evilone instructs Toto to eliminate Lagablab using a sniper rifle, and he himself uses a device to deactivate Lagablab's fire abilities. Lastikman lands a punch on the powerless Lagablab as Toto shoots Lagablab with a headshot. Lagablab drops down lifeless on the ground, and Lastikman discovers the bloody puncture on Ryan's head. But unbeknownst to him, Ayessa had seen how Miguel/Lastikman "killed" her rightfully avenging son Ryan, which is actually Jared's plan to convince the crippled woman to work for him to eliminate Lastikman.
[edit] Frosta (Ayessa White)
She represents Pride. Ayessa White was turned into a cryokinetic villain who wields water and cold-based manipulation abilities. Numb with grief and insane anger about the loss of her children, Ayessa is convinced to work for Jared to kill Lastikman to avenge the murder of her children as well as to solve her financial problems. Her transformation permanently healed her paralysis due to her stroke, and also added vast freezing powers that made her one mean killing machine.
- Ayessa White - She grew up in extravagance but experienced the hard life when her father's business went bankrupt. Ayessa promised that she won't be a loser like her father and does everything she can to be at the top. Because of her dreams she became a cold-hearted mother to her children Ryan and Yellena. Jared had wrongly informed her that Miguel/Lastikman is the one behind the deaths of her children. Being deprived of her cause for existence and with nowhere to go to, she allowed herself to be Jared's tool as one of Lastikman's coldest enemies, Frosta. Portrayed by Cherie Gil.
Origin
Jared grew tired of Lagablab's successive failures during his attacks on Lastikman. However, Ryan told Jared of Lastikman's other weakness: extreme cold. With this in mind, Jared devises a plan to employ Ayessa White who also deeply hated Miguel, while removing Ryan from the picture. Jared told Ayessa that he made Ryan into Lagablab to avenge the death of Yellena, and that Miguel/Lastikman killed her and will also kill Ryan/Lagablab. Jared sends Lagablab into battle with Lastikman in a pro-Lastikman rally, while he and Ayessa watch from inside a building. During the battle, Jared secretly orders Toto to shoot down Lagablab. Ayessa was angered by her son's alleged death by Lastikman. Because of the loss of her children, she felt lone and empty like a stone-cold ice. Convinced to work as Jared's minion, who heals her state and imbues her with impressive powers of extreme cold, Ayessa calls herself Frosta. She has feelings for Jared, especially for his wealth. She successfully defeats Lastikman, who is turned into a frozen corpse, supposedly dead. Frosta and Toto work together to recruit underlings for Agaddon's planned takeover of the government.
Abilities
- Cryogenesis - Frosta can create ice by freezing any liquid or by using the air around her, skipping the condensation of water.
- Cryokinesis - Frosta can shape and control her own ice for offense and defense, i.e. freeze beams, hailstones, and icicle knives.
- Hydrokinesis - Frosta can manipulate water in all three phases found on Earth: solid ice, liquid water, and gaseous air.
- Arctic Breath - Frosta can freeze anything by just turning her breath into a freezing gas.
- Frost Touch - Frosta can make anything freeze at just one touch.
- Teleport - Frosta can virtually teleport by diffusing into a chilling gas.
- Flight - Frosta has the ability to fly.
- Ice Projection - Frosta can move frozen objects at will.
Defeat
Although she almost killed Ruth, Agaddon comes and attacks her on the back. After the confrontation, Agaddon heats Frosta with his hands (causing her powers to drain) and, with his Ice powers, causes her to lose both arms. He leaves her for dead so that Lastikman could kill her. Lastikman arrives and sees Frosta weakening. Frosta wants him to kill her but Lastikman refuses. She was later confined to a hospital and was arrested after her recovery. She then reveals to Lastikman the possible location of Jared and his spaceship and vowed to keep his true identity a secret until her death.
[edit] Elemento (Agaddon/Jared Evilone)
Agaddon represents Greed, as he was jealous of his friend Irroian and coveted Ruth. Aggadon was once a Harraian scientist who sought fame, but was marked as a criminal after fleeing to Earth with Ruth. On Earth, he devised a serum to disguise the pair as Jared Evilone and Cynthia Evilone, and became the tycoon of Evilone Pharmaceuticals, which exploits the poor by spreading diseases with its monsters only to offer the cures at prices unaffordable by the public. Agaddon plans to eventually turn all humans into his monsters in order to conquer the world and offer it to Ruth, and considers Lastikman to be a grave threat to his plans. He is assisted by Toto.
After the Harraian stone Liwata is completed with its missing fragment contained in Miguel's amulet, Agaddon becomes Elemento. Elemento possesses the ability to manipulate the elements; for example, he can manipulate gravity, create fireballs, produce extreme cold, and create storms. He can also manipulate all of the elements at the same time to create servant golems.
Elemento nearly manages to capture Lastikman, but Amon Labao sends a message to her subjects that Elemento is to be arrested. Elemento attempts to flee in his ship, but Lastikman sneaks upon the ship, and the two battle until the ship loses control and crashes. Just before impact, Lastikman defeats Elemento and takes him to the Harraians, who arrest him and take him back to the galaxy Harraio to be imprisoned. Agaddon portrayed by Ian Veneracion & Jared Evilone/Elemento portrayed by John Estrada.
