Last Time I Saw Him (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Last Time I Saw Him" was a country-styled single recorded and released in 1974 by singer Diana Ross on the Motown label. The Country theme was later taken on by a Country singer that same year, Dottie West, who released it as a Country single.
The song, which talked of a woman who was promised by her lover that no matter where he was that he'll return to her as soon as possible, became Ross' seventh top forty single as a solo artist hitting number fourteen on the pop chart and also became her first-ever number-one single on the Hot Adult Contemporary Chart, then known as the Easy Listening chart.
It was the only big hit released off Ross' album of the same name.
Legendary Country singer Dottie West covered this song the same year with her version reaching No. 8 on the Billboard Country charts and No. 5 on the Cashbox Country charts. The song was West's last Top 10 hit under her record company at the time, RCA, and is also one of her better-known songs.
