Last Man on Earth is a 2001 album by Loudon Wainwright III. Recorded in the wake of his mother's death, the album thematically addresses feelings of grief and loneliness following from this event. Portions of the album ("Surviving Twin" in particular) also reflect upon Wainwright's troubled relationship with his father, Loudon Wainwright, Jr., a subject that has populated many of his earlier recordings (such as 1992's History).
