[edit] Format
The show will air each Saturday evening and will be presented by Myleene Klass and Nick Knowles[2] with a panel of music experts consisting of singer Russell Watson, actress and singer Sharon D. Clarke as well as conductor Suzi Digby[3] in a weekly competition to be crowned "The nations favourite choir".
Sixty choirs sang at the audition stage,[4] from which the panel decided which 15 choirs go through to the studio heats. Then six choirs will be chosen to sing on the live weekly shows. Each week the panel and the public will vote for which choir they want to save.[1]
[edit] Auditions
Around 1,000 choirs enetered the competition, with sixty choirs being invited to the auditions which took place on 10 May 2008 at Cadogan Hall in London with choirs from all over the United Kingdom competing to reach the next round.[5][6] Each choir performed two songs in front of the three judges. To get through to the next stage the choir needed two of the judges to put them through.[4]
