The first Las Vegas Quicksilvers were a soccer team based out of Las Vegas, Nevada that played in the NASL. They played only one season, 1977. Their home field was Sam Boyd Stadium. In 1977 they averaged an attendance of 7,092.
An aging Eusébio played for the Quicksilvers in 77 but only managed to score 2 goals in 17 games. Wolfgang Sunholz also played for the Quicksilvers and was named in the NASL 1st All-Star team.
Previous to Las Vegas, the franchise was known as the Baltimore Comets and San Diego Jaws. After Las Vegas, the team moved back to San Diego and became known as the San Diego Sockers.
