[edit] Porno
I heard something about a video of Larry Zbyszko being in a porno somewhere. I was wondering whether or not this was actually true.12.167.200.173 16:50, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] What a name
Regarding the claim that he was known as Zbysko in the 1970s and 1980s, I have Roberta Morgan's Main Event: The World of Professional Wrestling (1979), which is what passed for a pro wrestling reference at the time, and in it the name Zbyszko (with the second 'z') is consistently used.
So did he really use two different variations, or was it simply (and understandably) misspelled a lot? Wasted Time R 17:59, 13 July 2005 (UTC)

- When Zbysko wrestled for the AWA & Jim Crockett Promotions, they listed him as "Larry Zbysko" on the graphics when he would be coming to the ring for a match or interview. I can't say that they did this 100% of the time, but I usually watched ring entrances to see how the wrestlers interacted with the fans as they came out and I always saw "Zbysko".
-
- I also know that they had a bad habit of changing the spelling of wrestlers' names every other week in Crockett. I did notice that WCW listed him mostly as "Zbyszko" but that was after seeing it listed the other way for years.
-
- I have seen some of the 1980's wrestling magazines list him as "Zbyszko". I have also noticed most websites list him that way but I am not too trusting to go by what they say because I have noticed alot of "revisionist history" on alot of them (such as the Mid-Southern area titles being called AWA titles even though they were only AWA titles in 1987).
-
- Anyway, that is where I got the "Zbysko" from. I don't really know at this point which spelling is correct, but I think they both should be in the article since they are both out there.

- I think it's very likely "Zbyszko" is the correct spelling, because that is Stanislaus Zbyszko's spelling and where Larry got the name from. Google shows a 20:1 preference for the second-z spelling of Stanislaus' name, and a 10:1 preference for the second-z spelling of Larry's name. But it's certainly ok to have the alternate spelling in the article as it stands now, especially since the article was originally created under that spelling and most of the links are to that spelling. His pro debut is in 1972, not in 71 or 73 (I don't remember what it was).
