Talk:Larry Kramer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I edited the paragraph about Yale, based on this sentence, from the transcripts of his 2004 address to the community: My own college, Yale, with $1 million of my own brother’s money to do just this, will not teach what I call gay history, unencumbered with the prissy incomprehensible gobbledygook of gender studies and queer theory. I think you should add that sentence verbatim to the article, rather than try to paraphrase it. It's better to let Kramer speak in his own words and let the readers figure out what he means. Adam 14:29, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Your point is well taken, I edited that paragraph as you suggested. Morris 19:59, Apr 17, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Quote
- "In those instances where children do have sex with their homosexual elders, be they teachers or anyone else, I submit that often, very often, the child desires the activity, and perhaps even solicits it, either because of a natural curiosity that will or will not develop along these lines, or because he or she is homosexual and innately knows it. This is far from "recruitment." Obviously, there are instances in which the child is unwilling, and is a victim of sexual abuse, homo- or heterosexual. But, as with straight children anxious for the experience with someone of the opposite sex, these are kids who seek solicit, and consent willingly to sex with someone of the same sex. And unlike girls or women forced into rape and traumatized, most gay men have warm memories of their earliest and early sexual encounters; when we share these stories with each other, they are invariably positive ones."

Is ACT-UP a militant group? It doesn't say that in its own article? The ACT-UP page says "non-violent" and only mentions "civil disobedience." Someone please correct this inconsistency. Voice of All(MTG) 05:17, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
What's Larry Kramer's address for email ?...dsaklad@zurich.csail.mit.edu
The Brad Davis article says that he didn't die of AIDS.
From what I read of that quote from Kramer, it is quite obvious he is a pedophile. Suffor 22:47, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- That's not very smart: he makes no mention of every having touched a child or wanting to touch a child. --David Shankbone 01:14, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Just because he doesn't mention that doesn't mean he isn't one. Only a pedophile would think it is normal for kids to have sex with adults. The fact he and his butt buddies mention sharing stories like that is also further proof. Suffor 16:10, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:The Normal Heart.jpg
Image:The Normal Heart.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
